Google has just announced their next generation Android tablet, the Nexus 9, a 8.9 inch tablet that is produced by HTC.

The Nexus 9 includes a 8.9 inch IPS LCD Display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, unusual for tablets. The display has a 2048 x 1536 resolution.  The device measures 6.1 x 9 x 0.31 inches.  It is a 64-bit device powered by a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor and it includes 2GB of RAM.  The battery is a 6700mAh battery that's expected to give up to 30 days of standby and 9.5 hours of browsing using Wi-Fi.  It includes a 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 1.6 MP ront-facing camera.

The tablet is available with the same soft-touch plastic back as the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.  It's available in 3 colors; Indigo Black, Lunar White, and Sand.  It doesn't offer an SD card slot but is available with either 16GB or 32GB.  It includes the new Android 5.0.

You can purchase the Nexus 9 from Google Play and also many retailers such as Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon, Office Depot, Staples, and Walmart.  It is available for presale on October 17 and is available on November 3.  The cost is $399 for the 16GB model, $479 for the 32GB model, and $599 for the 32GB model with built-in LTE.
