Amazon introduces Kindle Unlimited

Rick Otto

Amazon has just introduced a new service that's sure to be popular with heavy users of their Kindle eBook format.  It's called Kindle Unlimited and is an all you can eat plan.

Kindle Unlimited is priced at $9.99 a month and it offers a library of over 600,000 ebooks.  It also includes access to thousands of audiobooks.  It works on Kindle devices and also Amazon's Kindle apps for iOS and Android.

Currently Amazon offers the Kindle Owners Lending Library that's available to Amazon Prime subscribers.  The disadvantage of the Lending Library is that a user must own a Kindle device to use the service.

At this point the service is only available in the U.S. If you wish to give it a try Amazon is offering a free 30 day trial.
